On the ground floor of the Castello di Torre, in 1941 count di Ragogna makes an exciting discovery: removing a layer of plaster from the north wall of a large room used as a kitchen, he brings to light a late fifteenth-century fresco depicting an Annunciation.
He attributes it to Leonardo da Vinci (1452–1519), but later studies assign the work to Gianfrancesco da Tolmezzo (1450–1511).
