Pordenone enjoys a privilege that few Italian cities can boast: its historic centre can be reached by walking through nothing but green spaces. Meadows, farmland, The Pordenone Museum Network is expanding its cultural offering with “Verdi testimoni di vita” (Green Witnesses to Life), a new urban trail dedicated to the natural heritage of the historic centre, which was officially launched on Saturday 12 April 2026.
The route was created with the aim of showcasing the city’s main biotopes. It is the historic trees themselves that mark the key points along the route. But the itinerary also takes in green spaces, waterways and even vantage points and panoramic views. A widespread narrative that weaves together the environment, memory and transformations of the landscape, inviting residents and visitors to head to the historic centre of Pordenone, breathing in deeply and experiencing the city from a fresh perspective.
The route winds its way through accessible and recognisable stops, designed to be explored independently or as a complement to a visit to the museums in the network. In particular, the “Green Witnesses of Life” that guide visitors will also lead them to comic book museums. ‘Green Witnesses of Life’ forms part of the Musei in Rete project as a tool for connecting cultural and natural heritage, strengthening the dialogue between museums, urban spaces and communities. An invitation to slow down, recognise the value of urban greenery and rediscover the deep connection between the environment and everyday life.
The tour is free of charge. By purchasing the ‘Biglietto Unico Musei in Rete’ ticket, you can combine the city walk with a visit to the participating museums.
